La Cusinga Rainforest Ecolodge is for the nature lovers. La Cusinga is located just off the main highway heading south about 30 km south of the town of Dominical. Here you will find some of the best conservation practices of any ecolodge in the country. They have four of the possible five leaves that are accredited to those hotels dedicated to operating their hotels in accordance to ecotourism and sustainable standards.

If you are looking for all of this along with the best views of the Pacific you will then find La Cusinga is the spot. The views here are almost unobstructed from every part of the property. The only thing that might get in your way are the many monkeys or the high rising tropical rainforest as you hike to your room.

La Cusinga not only gives you breath-taking views of the Pacific Ocean but it is also home to a 200 hectare private reserve of Costa Rica virgin rainforest that borders the Pacific Ocean. You can take hikes from your rooms down to some of the most isolated beaches in all of Costa Rica. Here you will get to see all the Costa Rica wildlife you can handle. This private reserve borders along side the Parque Ballena National Park which is one of the most common areas for the humpback whale in Costa Rica. It is tough to beat a day at the beach, hiking in the reserve with the monkeys, and then relaxing in your room with views of the humpback whales. Like we said, La Cusinga offers it all of the perfect nature tour.

The rooms at La Cusinga are nothing fancy. Do not let this turn you off. It is far from a dump and the surrounding nature is in its most luxurious form. It is a rustic three-star hotel but in a five-star natural setting. The finest of the rooms is the honeymoon suite which if you request it, we can assure you'll get it. Don't worry if you are not on your honeymoon and you still want the nicest of the rooms we can remove the roses and bottle of wine.
